Enter a temperature and its unit to see the equivalent in Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin.
How temperature conversion works
Celsius to Fahrenheit: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Fahrenheit to Celsius: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. Celsius to Kelvin is simplest of all: K = °C + 273.15, since the Kelvin scale uses the same size degree as Celsius but starts at absolute zero.
Absolute zero (0 K, or −273.15 °C, or −459.67 °F) is the coldest temperature theoretically possible — the point where particles have minimal thermal motion.
Frequently asked questions
What is 0°C in Fahrenheit?
0°C equals 32°F — the freezing point of water.
What is normal body temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit?
Average human body temperature is often cited as approximately 37°C (98.6°F), though normal ranges vary by individual and measurement method.
Why does Kelvin never go negative?
The Kelvin scale starts at absolute zero (0 K), the theoretical lower limit of temperature, so negative Kelvin values don't represent a physically meaningful temperature.
